Andreas Efler was born on October 4, 1967 in Vienna. He had his first contact with billiards in 1986 in Basel (CH), where he also spent his youth. Magically attracted by cue and balls, he devoted every free minute to his training. Already after four years, he won his first Swiss championship title in three cushion. Through constant contact with the French world class player Robert Weingart, he was able to fight his way to the top internationally and finally reached the final in a European Grand Prix tournament in Erfurt (D) in 1993.
Further international successes followed, including the silver medal at the 1995 European Championships in Odense, victory in a World Cup tournament in Veijle (DK) and the World Championship silver medal for 2-person teams in Viersen. In 2005 he won 3 out of four NBL tournaments, an Austrian Grand Prix series with significant media exposure. In 2013 he won the Austrian three-ball championship.
He currently lives near Vienna, where he gives private lessons in his well-equipped training room and holds courses for the Austrian Federation. With the help of the new MYWEBSPORT training system it is also possible for him to hold courses via internet. As an author Andreas Efler wrote several billiard textbooks, some of which are also available as eBook and as App
