| "Even
before I became a professional, Ralph taught me many things that has had
a tremendous impact on my career. When I became a professional his teachings
became even more insightful. I can't help but pass on his knowledge to
my students and share with my friends on the Pro Tour. In professional
tournaments against the worlds best players, I still use the principles
Ralph taught me."
said Thorsten Hohmann the 9-Ball Poolbilliard World Champion 2003, Straight
Pool World Champion 2006 and 1st winner of the International Pool Tour

Pool" by Ralph
Eckert

Today we have published the first pool billiard books from
our catalogue in e-book format. This step marks the entry of Litho-Verlag
into the new digital world. The books can be downloaded via the new portal
www.billiardliterature.com.
They can be read free of charge for a short period, but then you will
need a serial number and activation code which can be purchased in our
shop. The prices for the books are significantly lower than prices for
printed books, but with the one restriction that you cannot print out
e-books from your PC at home. E-books give you the chance to find out
exactly what a book’s about, and to be able to read it quickly and
free of charge all over the world. The entire range of Litho-Verlag’s
pool billiard books will be available online shortly. |

| PAT start now available |
published 10-09-2007 |
 |
With PAT Start the task of creating a training and an evaluation
system (PAT), recognized and recommended by the world body, the WPA, designed
for both beginners and ambitious leisure time Pool-Billiard players, has
been achieved.
Practically without any previous knowledge, guided by a main thread, it
is now possible to learn how to play with cue and balls. Particularly
when cooperating with a (PAT-) coach, great progress and an almost continuous
improvement is practically pre-programmed.
At the same time PAT Start will enable an international comparison of
one‘s own ability and the ability of other players through the online
PAT-system database.
The further and more demanding levels of the PAT-system (PAT 1-3) is only
one of more options offered an examined and a basis-educated player.

Recent IPT champion Thorsten Hohmann of Germany was quoted
just prior to his finals match in Las Vegas: “I think the players
have to become more professional athletes with the format, and now with
the money, they have the opportunity, if they’re smart, to get a
coach, get a personal trainer, and work on their game. That’s what
I want to do.” Thorsten is one of the highest-rated players (813
– PAT 3) yet to take the internationally-standardized Playing Ability
Test, better known as “PAT.” The system of drills was devised
by pro player Ralph Eckert, the national German billiard coach Andreas
Huber and World Confederation of Billiard Sports President Jorgen Sandman
(the WCBS is the permanent member for cue sports to the International
Olympic Committee). The world-governing body for pool, the World Pool-Billiard
Association (WPA), has recently endorsed the program as well.

The Basics of Pool Billiard by THE POOL SCHOOL, is now available.

| "It's not that Europeans
have books, it's that they know enough to write them and have an audience
that cares enough to read them." |
|
 |
In July 2000 Mike Shamos worte an intresting article in Billiard
Digest, one of the most well know billiard magazines in the US. In his
article 'Broken Rack' he comes to the following resume: "One major
difference between our biliard scene and that of Asia and Europe has to
do with the way learning is passed along. Most Americans learn by spending
a frightening amount of time in pool halls. [...] In Europe and Asia there
is a much grater degree of one-on-one instruction, probably because the
players are not trying to earn a living hustling each other and therefore
have nothing to lose from sharing their secrets."
"European billiard publishing is completely different. It produces
a steady diet of advanced instructional books".
And now is the first book "Modern Pool" by Ralph Eckert is
out in english. And it will be followed in the next months by another
book: "Basics in Pool Billiard" by the POOL SCHOOL GERMANY.
The trainers Uwe Sander and David Alfieri, self instructors learned their
job by Jerry Breisath, and with his blessing, this frist part will bring
the theoretics of the methods from the POOL SCHOOL back to your home.
In Germany these books from Eckert and the Pool School are one of the
most sold billiard trainings books. Why do you believe, German Billiard
Players are so successfull?
